Visions for Vacancies: What Should Move Into This North Strabane Building?

It's located right on state Route 19. What kind of business do you think would make a good fit in the area?

Although the sign boasts that the building is home to Affordable Decks and Additions Inc., the building on state Route 19 across the street from the North Strabane Township Fire Department is vacant. The parking lot sits empty, and weeds have crept up around parts of the foundation. Our question? What would you like to see move into this venue? What kind of business would be a good fit for North Strabane? What kind of business is needed in the community? Leave us your suggestion in the comments section below. not sure if a car wash would work, or some really good 2nd hand clothing store. it could include other things than clothing in excellent condition, or a small business great location, but a lot of money is needed   more ›

Visions for Vacancies: What Should Move Into This North Strabane Building?

It used to be a medical office. What kind of business would be best suited for this location?

The building on state Route 19 in North Strabane—right across the street from the township fire department—still has a sign up indicating it is home to a medical office. But now, weeds choke the front of the structure and a big, red "For Sale" sign adorns it. Our question? What should move in here? What kind of business do you frequent if it was located here? Give us your two cents in the comments section below.

One of the problems with this location is there isn't any access north bound on 19. You need to turn around at the light at Kings. Probably why nothing has moved in there.   more ›

Visions for Vacancies: What Should Move Into This Building?

The signs still says Dairy Queen, but no soft serve is being doled out here. What kind of business should move into this building?

So, Canonsburg residents: It used to be a place of soft-serve ice cream (maybe with sprinkles, maybe without), and other frozen delights. Now it sits vacant on West Pike Street in the borough. My question? With such a prime location, what should move on in? What kind of business would you support here? Tell me in the comments section!

I would like Dairy Queen to come back. I have many fond memories of going there after a baseball or soccer game as a kid. I would like my son to experience the same. How many of us remember hearing the coach say "If we win, I'm buying Dairy Queen!"? Just my two cents.....   more ›

Thanks! I grew up in a different area where the Dunkin' Donuts are plentiful. I would be at the DD in Canonsburg 2-3 times per week just for coffee. Add another once per week trip for food and the occasional trip to restock my Dunkin' Donuts K-cups and you've got a fortune!   more ›
