Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is no stranger to leading his teammates on the football field. Tuesday was no different, expect the offense and defensive linemen swarming him were, well, a bit less physically imposing. For the second day in a row, Roethlisberger tossed footballs, offered advice and conducted drills for about 500 youths from around the region as part of his annual football camp. Organized by Football ProCamps, the two-day training session for boys and girls ages 7 to 14 was held Monday and Tuesday at Seneca Valley's NexTier Stadium. This year's event will take place June 18-19.
Once just wasn’t enough for Ben Roethlisberger. For the second year in a row, the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback will head to Seneca Valley to host a youth football training camp for boys and girls ages 7 to 14 at the district's NexTier Stadium. This year’s camp will take place from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. June 18-19. The cost is $199 per kid. Besides getting instruction and footballs tossed to them from a Super Bowl champion, campers will participate in daily games, stations and skills contests. Campers also will receive a T-shirt, an autographed team photo with Roethlisberger and the opportunity to enter in contests and win prizes. Plus, you never know who may show up. Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger graduated from Miami University in Ohio on Sunday—nine years after leaving for the NFL. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in education during a commencement ceremony at Miami's Millett Hall—the university's basketball arena close to Yager Stadium, where he set records he still holds today. The 30-year-old joined nearly 600 students in receiving their diplomas on campus from The School of Education, Health & Society—a ceremony officiated by Dean Carine Feyten. Steelers safety Troy Polamalu, center Maurkice Pouncey, wide receiver Mike Wallace, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and kick returner Antonio Brown have been selected to the 2012 AFC Pro Bowl team announced Tuesday by the NFL, according to a release. Polamalu, Pouncey and Wallace were named starters in the NFL's annual all-star game. The Pro Bowl will be played Sunday, Jan. 29 at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii and televised by NBC at 7 p.m. Eastern.
