Attending a performance of "The Nutcracker" is a holiday tradition, and this year Patch wants to help you enjoy Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre's always-in-demand production of the classic story of Marie and her Nutcracker Prince. Enter Patch’s "Nutcracker Tradition" photo contest by sharing a photo or photos of your favorite child holding your family’s favorite nutcracker. Ticket sales to 2012-13 season productions can now be purchased!
Canonsburg, Cecil and North Strabane theatergoers—listen up! As Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre approaches its October season premiere, single-ticket sales for 2012-13 season productions can now be purchased. This upcoming season features Pittsburgh premieres, family favorites and a mixed repertory performance at the August Wilson Center. The five production line-up includes Giselle, The Nutcracker, Moulin Rouge—The Ballet, Unspoken and Cinderella. The Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre recently did a photo shoot for its new production, 'A Streetcar Named Desire' at the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum.
A photo shoot for the cast of the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre's "Streetcar Named Desire" took place this week at the Pennsylvania Trolley Musueum. The museum, which is just a short trip from Canonsburg to Washington, houses the actual streetcar (named Desire, incidentally). The Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre has re-imagined "Streetcar Named Desire," "presenting a portrayal of clashing cultures" in John Neumeier’s ballet of Tennessee William’s stage play March 9-11 at the Benedum Center. This is the first time Neumeier’s creation will be performed by an American company and only the second time it’s been performed in the United States. The story brings its audience inside the tormented mind of Blanch Du Bois, an aging southern belle. Through …
