North Strabane Township supervisors on Tuesday approved its 2013 summer road paving maintenance program—one that represents more than $940,000 in improvements. The contract was awarded to Shields Asphalt Paving Inc. The company was the low bidder. Here are the roads slated for paving improvements:
Several Cecil roadways will get a makeover within the next several weeks.
About $1 million in road repairs are slated to begin soon in Cecil, township Manager Don Gennuso confirmed this week. "Any week now the work should be starting," he said. While the board of supervisors originally wanted to borrow $1 million to execute the major road project, it ultimately decided to instead take out a $500,000 loan and use another half-million dollars from its fund balance to pay for repairs. And Gennuso said a such a comprehensive program has its advantages. "You're getting a big chunk of roads improvements out of the way," he said. I agree with Dennis and Judy. As Safety Officer for The Muse Fire Department, I would like to know when Angerer Road is going to be repaired. This road is very unsafe for a car, let alone a piece of fire apparatus. It has been in disrepair for so long that we are VERY hesitant to travel this road. Southpointe Boulevard should be funded by the multi million dollar companies. There are very few if …   more ›
