Want to take the kids to see Santa, but can't make the holiday events in Canonsburg and Cecil Township this weekend? Is the mall just not your style? How about seeing Santa at nearby Trax Farms? Because the jolly old elf will be there on Saturdays and Sundays in December, from Saturday to Dec. 16. Trax Farms will be hosting a breakfast or lunch with Santa and his elves. Breakfasts start at 9:30 a.m. and lunch at 12:30 p.m. Reservations, which cost $8, can be made at the customer service desk or over the phone at 412-835-3246. Trax Farms announced it will hold Outdoor Summer Flea Markets again this year—on Saturday and Aug. 25. They will be held in the grassy area at the end of the main parking lot—where patrons are asked to park in their own 10-foot by 20-foot space and sell right from their vehicle! “We open early to beat the heat,” organizers said in a release. The cost is $10 a day (collected at 9 a.m.) for vendors, and there is no prebooking. All spaces are available on a first-come-first-served basis. Trax Farms will "open up its pantry" for a day of sampling during three upcoming Saturdays starting tomorrow and continuing on Feb. 11 and March 10. Numerous vendors like Wind & Willow, Miller’s Mustard, Boar's Head, Evelyn’s Edibles, Albert’s Meats, Schneider’s Dairy and more will be showcasing their wonderful eats. Free tasting of award-winning local winery Arrowhead Wines will be available as well. For those with a sweet tooth, fudge and other baked goods will be featured.
