A Canonsburg man is in Washington County Jail after police said he abandoned his 8-year-old child last week at a local store.
South Strabane police charged Nathaniel Engott, 33, of Canonsburg, with one count each of endangering the welfare of children and disorderly conduct, online court records show.
The Observer-Reporter newspaper is reporting that he allegedly abandoned his son at the South Strabane Walmart on Thursday.
Online court records show that Engott was arraigned before district Judge Jay Weller Monday and remanded to the Washington County Jail after being unable to post a $10,000 straight bond.
He is schedule to appear before Weller for a preliminary hearing on July 9.
